Largs Community Council has called on a solution to the parking problems in Sandringham and Union Street for local residents.
Spaces are very limited, community councillor Andy Adai pointed out, during a recent meeting, and asked for a residential parking area to help with the situation.
Andy said: “Sandringham, Union Street, and Bath Street is hammered with people parking their cars and going to Millport. I went out with the dog just after 6am one morning and there was hardly a parking space to be had.”
Largs council chairman Douglas Blair: “These people that park their cars for a weekend and head to Cumbrae bring no revenue to Largs.”
Independent councillor Ian Murdoch said: “The whole parking thing needs to be looked at in general throughout Largs.
“There are benefits to people parking who are going to Cumbrae as the seafront car park generates a lot of income from people who are heading to Millport so a balance has to be struck somewhere.”
