Largs Town Twinning group is returning to France later this month on a cultural trip.
A total of 15 local residents are heading out to Andernos-Les-Bains, around an hour’s drive away from the city of Bordeaux, on the south west coast of France.
It is the tenth anniversary of the town twinning arrangement between the seaside towns.
The Largs group will be staying with French hosts, and next year, the Largs Town Twinning Group will return the favour when our French friends come to Scotland.
Richard said: “We are currently gathering names of people who would like to attend the Andernos trip.
"Participants will be matched with hosts who speak English as well as French so a lack of knowledge of French language is no draw back.
“Town twinning is about sharing knowledge of each other’s culture and way of life and there is no better way than to live with hosts who are keen to make us welcome and show off their town and way of life.”
During the recent Town Twinning AGM, Richard was re-elected as chair, Ken Jarrett as Vice Chair, May Renwick as secretary, David Watson as treasurer, and Helen Mitchell as membership secretary.
The group is arranging some fundraising events for later in the year, including a quiz night in October.
