The family of Allen Kemp want to make a special thank you to the Largs Community Resilience Team for helping to save his life.
The Beast of the East provided conditions the like of which had never been seen in Largs before with huge drifting throughout the back hills of the town, affecting residents staying in outlying places.
However, 69 year old Allen was not responding to medication and was showing a high temperature as high snow drifts of 8-10 feet meant emergency access was nigh on impossible without assistance.
Allen's daughter in law Amanda said: "If it hadn't been for the community resilience team coming to our rescue and helping to clear the road for a doctor to see Allen on Sunday then he wouldn't be here today."
