Could an outdoor gym be coming to Millport?
The possibility was raised during the recent Cumbrae Community Council meeting, with volunteers keen to look at bringing outdoor exercise equipment to the island.
PC Michael Emans, and Jackie Wilson are both looking at the possibility to enhance fitness options for islanders.
Outdoor play equipment for adults has been a growing sector, and the possibility was also mooted in the original plans for the revamped Largs Promenade, but these plans were dropped.
It was pointed out that the concept had been introduced in Ayr and proved popular.
PC Emans said: "It is generally metal exercise equipment, suitable for the outside, with swings and steppers. They also have them at the back of Irvine beach. On some occasions, you can charge your phone to the equipment the harder you run."
