Council blow a fuse over town centre delays

Community councillors have blown a fuse after bungling officials admitted that underground cables were the cause of massive delays to tree planting and bus shelter plans for Largs town centre.

Back in December, Transport Scotland chiefs told members of Largs Community Council of their frustration over attempts to get British Telecom to remove their telephone box outside the railway station, allowing the installation of a new bus shelter.

However, at the last meeting of the community council, it emerged that the situation had still not been addressed, and, in the meantime, had spiralled into further problems.
