Congratulations go to Mr Jim Lamont of Largs, Captain of Largs Boys Brigade, and Zoe Maclean of Fairlie, who has taken an active role in the charity Canine Partners, have both been notified that they will be Commonwealth Games baton bearers when the baton arrives in the Largs area on Tuesday July 15.
Zoe, a former young citizen of the year in Fairlie, will also be a Clydesider volunteer during the Games.
Jim was also a joint winner of the North Ayrshire Citizen of the Year awards, with wife Bridie, recently.
A total of 125 volunteers were selected to take part in the North Ayrshire section of the baton tour a week before the Commonwealth Games start in Glasgow in July.
