Police are following a positive line of enquiry into the spate of outboard motor thefts from both Largs and Inverkip.

Largs Police have teamed up with Greenock CID during the investigation as several outboard engines and a 12 litre tin of petrol were taken from boats moored off Inverkip in July.

During early August, several outboards were stolen from yachts at Largs Yacht Haven.

Police are investigating two assaults at different locations in Largs.

Three youths set upon another man in the narrow stretch of pavement on the Main Street, near Barbecue Kings, on Sunday at 2am.

A 16 year old youth was assaulted in Union Street, Largs, at 9.15pm on Saturday. He was pushed to the ground and punched during the altercation. Police are following a positive line of enquiry into both assaults.

A silver Fox bike valued at £80 was stolen from Morris Street in Largs at 2pm on Saturday 13 September.

Police have reminded the neighbourhood in West Kilbride to be vigilant after an intruder was scared off a property in Kirkton Avenue. The incident happened at 5am on Saturday as a burglar managed to sneak into the property via an unlocked back door, and managed to steal a £5 note.

There was a shoplifting incident at Tesco Express in Aitken Street, Largs at 10.45pm last Friday. Two youths in hooded tops managed to leave the premises with a box of Strongbow cider without paying.
