Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious assault in Largs at the weekend.
A 31 year old man was seriously assaulted in Largs on Saturday around 2.25am He was walking in Main Street towards the Railway Station when he was approached by another man, who punched the victim in the head and face, knocking him to the ground.
He was taken by ambulance to Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Greenock suffering from head and facial injuries. He has since been released from hospital.
The suspect is described as: White male, wearing a blue coloured polo shirt. No further description available at this time.
Detective Constable Scott Moore at Saltcoats is appealing for witnesses. He said: “We are currently trying to establish a motive for this attack. At the time of the assault, the area was busy with members of the public. I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and witnessed this attack to come forward.” Any person with information is asked to telephone the CID at Saltcoats on the non emergency telephone number 101. Alternatively telephone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
