SSE's proposal for a two year extension to their test turbine site at Hunterston continues to provoke debate.
This week, in a letter to the Largs and Millport Weekly News, Ruaridh McIntyre believes that the turbines are compromising the 'unique' beauty of the coastline ...
In relation to last week's story about the Hunterston turbines applying for a two year extension, this is not just a Fairlie issue. These monstrosities dominate the landscape and are a complete eyesore from Millport and are probably even visible from Arran.
SSE should not be allowed to get away with welching on the original deal. This, along with the uncertainty of what will go ahead with the proposed flood defences for Millport, is ruining the unique beauty of this part of our coast and countryside.
