From the ordinary to the extraordinary, Largs mum Fiona De Stefano will be running the London Marathon for the 'Save The Children' charity in April, and is hosting a big family fundraiser on Saturday.
Describing herself as simply an 'ordinary mum', the 44 year old has been inspired to get on her jogging shoes and do her bit for a good international cause.
Fiona said: "Running has definitely gave me back my confidence and belief in myself. So much so that I signed up to run the London Marathon on 23 April and I'm raising money for Save the Children.
"I've wanted to run the London Marathon since I was 8 years old and I'm about to turn 44...so I've been dreaming about this for decades! I also hope to inspire my kids to follow their dreams no matter how hard or impossible they may seem.
"Support has been fantastic and I've already raised £725 towards my minimum target of £1895....almost half way there, but there's still a very long way to go."
Fiona's family disco night is on Saturday 4 February at Largs Masonic Hall from 7-10pm. DJ Robert Neely will be entertaining the kids and there will be a raffle and hot snacks.
Tickets cost £3.50 each or £15 for a family/group of five people.
Tickets are available from Largs Computers shop in Main Street, or just buy tickets at the door on the night. There will now be a raffle on the night and the top prize is a stunning gents watch worth £350. There will also be hotdogs, sausage rolls and snacks for the kids.

Fiona added: "I’m running for Save the Children because I want to do something positive!
"I'm sick of feeling upset and helpless...watching babies and children living in terrible conditions, starving, drowning and being pulled out of rubble.
"I'm just an Ordinary Mum with a Dream to run a marathon and do my best to help!
"I ran for 85 minutes and did 7.5 miles. Fundraising has now reached £856 but if I make it to £1000 by 1st February my name goes in the draw to start with all the celebrities! Thank you very much for any donations and support."
