Largs and Fairlie councillor Alan Hill has a solution to the headache of summer congestion at Largs ferry slip - move the terminal to Fairlie!
Cllr. Hill, who lives in Fairlie, made the suggestion during a recent Largs Community Council meeting on the problems of queues during the summer when tourists flock to Millport.
Residents in nearby streets have been calling for parking permits to be introduced for residents to allow for parking next to their homes, pointing out that people heading to the Isle of Cumbrae sometimes park their cars all weekend, blocking direct access to their residences.
Cllr. Hill said: "Why don't you move the ferry terminal to Fairlie? That would be one solution. Cal Mac has been a victim of its own success with the launch of the cheaper ferry fares through the RET (Road equivalant tariff)."
