Keep Millport houses for island residents

An islander has written to the Largs & Millport Weekly New to say that "new amenity houses should not be given to pensioners from the mainland."

The resident who did not wish to be named stated in a letter:

"The new houses (in Millport) should be used primarily for pensioners already resident on the island. The island needs an increase in the amount of "sheltered" housing to stop elderly residents that require that little bit of help from being shipped off the island."

  totally agree - just as the new social housing in Largs should be for long term Largs residents
