Police are following up reports of a shocking incident after an object was thrown through a house window and injured the resident inside the property.

A 28 year old man sustained minor injuries to his ankle after the glass was smashed at 1.20am last Thursday.

Enquiries are ongoing into the incident which happened in Royal Avenue in Largs - two men were seen running away from the incident. Both appeared to be in their mid-20s, and around 5 foot 11 in height, wearing dark clothing.

A multi-gym facility was stolen from the front garden of a house in Acheson Gardens in Largs during Thursday 13 March.

The gym materials were waiting to be collected by a delivery company but instead, they were stolen without any trace between 10am-12 midday. It is believed that benches and weightlifting equipment may have been stolen.

A 41 year old man was reported for driving a lorry in a dangerous manner in Greenock Road at 10.30am last Thursday. Police reports stated that the driver, from North Ayrshire, was observed driving the vehicle in a reckless manner. Police confirmed that the vehicle was not a coal lorry.

Police confirmed that there were three break-ins to business premises in the Largs area during the past week. Items were removed from an open display in one such premises in Aitken Street, Largs overnight between Sunday and Monday. The other break-in occurred in Brisbane Glen Road between Friday 14 and Saturday 15 March. And another incident occurred between Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 March in Wilson Street where a sum of money was taken from the premises. Police were unable to say if there was any link between the incidents. However, they have asked local shops and businesses to continue to be vigilant in updating their security.

An 18 year old man has been arrested in John Clark Street, Largs with an alleged breach of the peace. Police stated that the man allegedly placed others ‘in a state of fear and alarm’ by his actions.

A 58 year old male driver has been charged under the road traffic offences in the early hours of the morning near the Blackshaw Farm area of West Kilbride. It is alleged that the vehicle was carrying an unsafe load on Saturday.

A 22 year old woman has been charged for excessive noise coming from her property because of apparent loud music in George Street, Largs. The incident happened at 11pm on Friday.

The pay station at the seafront car park in Gallowgate Street, Largs, was damaged by vandalism between Friday 7 and Saturday 8 March. There were reports that the exit barrier was open during Sunday but it is unclear whether this was connected to the earlier incident.
