A Fairlie safer roads petition is to be presented to North Ayrshire Council on Wednesday 8 October at Cunninghame House, Irvine, at 2pm.
The Scrutiny committee have written to Caroline Briggs, who organises the Fairlie Safer Roads campaign, in order for their roads petition to be presented to NAC.
Representatives from the Fairlie group will attend the meeting, and three group members will have the opportunity to address the committee for ten minutes, detailing the reasons behind the petition, which gained over 500 signatures in the village.
Mrs Briggs has urged villagers to turn out in force to show their support to bring about improvements to the village. Concerns about environmental pollution including noise, and campaigning for a 20mph limit through the village, have been highlighted by the group for attention.
