Speeding
The problem of cars travelling over the speed limit continues. Between Wemyss Bay and the end of the A78 at Skelmorlie cars continually exceed the speed limit. The flashing 30mph sign at Wemyss Bay is not deterrent as indeed the one in Largs constantly shows excess speed.
Over grown bushes
The vegetation bordering the footpath between Inverkip and Wemyss Bay is hazardous especially for folk with an eyesight problem. Some areas are obviously the concern of householders but there are areas where this is not the case.
Eco Group
Inverkip Church Eco group were pleased to receive a donation of litter pickers, gloves and sacks from Kip Marina. The group have been giving their time and energy to clearing rubbish left on the Ardgowan Beach owned by the Marina.
Statue Named
The statue at Wemyss Bay Station has been named Bobby. Many names were submitted but it was felt that Bobby was a reflection of the kind of name used for the time he depicts.
Inverkip Hub
The library, book bug and day care services only will continue as normal at the Hub till August 14th when all services will resume. There has been some concern about access to the hub with cars having to go through the Sainsbury car park. There was a slight accident between cars the other week with a reversing car bumping a parked car out side the supermarket.
Well Done
Pupils from Inverkip attending Inverclyde Academy were among those winning awards at the end of the session. Well done to all of them.
Ardgowan Fisheries
The fisheries at Loch Thom have had to apply retrospectively for planning permission for a development already carried out. They have said they did not realise they needed planning permission.
