West Kilbride Gets Plastered – The Cast: Tim Ashton

Tim is one of the new set of faces now on display in the Barony as part of 'West Kilbride Gets Plastered'

The project aims to capture the everyday superstars of West Kilbride in photography, plaster and print.

Run by CreativeWorks, getting plastered is open to anyone who lives, works or has a strong connection to the village.

There is nothing Tim cannot make, from artificial arteries to the plinths for the exhibiton. His extraordinary mind works at light speed, his hands are not much slower- he can move from idea to finished product in the blink of an eye.

Among his more legendary creations is the birthday death slide built for his daughters Kate and Lucy. Remembered with a mix of joy and fear by neighbouring children now grown up.

He always has time for a new projects, neighbours and friends often benefit from his no nonsense fixes of prams, garage doors, stoves and patio edging.

When not in his garden workshops he is off on the water in canoe or boat, or mucking about in the mud, offroad in his signature Landrover.

Drop in to the barony any time during the week to see and read more about Tim, and the other faces on display.

Or join the team on the 15th of July from 1-3pm to see the plastering in action, sign yourself up to be plastered and meet the some of the plaster superstars in person.
