Police are appealing for information after the theft of a bike, sat-navs and an expensive power motor recently.

Firstly, an expensive bike was stolen from the cycle path at Largs Yacht Haven on Monday 7 July between 3.30pm and 4.30pm. The Dawes Audax was valued at £880 and was burgundy and black in colour.

And next, a Honda power motor, valued at £1500, was stolen from a North Ayrshire Council wagon pick-up parked in Crosbie Drive in West Kilbride, between 10.10pm and 10.30pm on Monday 7 July.

A man aged 37 was reported to the Procurator Fiscal in relation to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner in Aitken Street, Largs, on Saturday 5 July, and was subsequently arrested by police.

Police have reminded motorists to be extra vigiant after another sat nav device was stolen from a Volkswagen van parked in the Gateside Street car park, overnight between 1 and 2 July.

Inspector Michael Oates said; “This is about the sixth or seventh time it has happened now in Largs, and we would really urge motorists to remove their sat navs, after they have stopped driving, in order to prevent this from happening.” A 50 year old man from Ardrossan has been reported for excessive speeding on the Main Road in Fairlie at 10.30pm on Thursday 3 July.
