A warning has gone out to shopkeepers to be aware of fake £20 notes in circulation.
In a message on their Facebook site, the Kandy Bar shop in West Kilbride stated: “We’ve just had a fake £20 passed in our West Kilbride shop by a male customer (short) 5ft 4in dark hair and bad skin.
“He was wearing a grey tracksuit, white trainers and had a red bookies pen behind his ear.” The police were in attendance, and they have CCTV footage of the person who has been in various shops in West Kilbride trying to use the counterfeit tender.
