Jenna Clark (Irvine Takeda Club) was left speechless after winning the Young Sports Ambassador award.
She has been training at the Irvine Takeda Club since the age of four and is currently a black belt in the sport. She is also reigning British Champion for Team Kumite and has many other titles under her belt, using the nurturing excellence programme as a way of developing her potential in the sport.
All this was despite the fact that in 2016, Jenna was diagnosed with Scolosis, a progressive curve in her spine.
She said: “My inspiration has always been to work hard and do my best.”
Judge Danielle Joyce: “Jenna stood out after what she has had to overcome, and to have done so well in her sport is amazing, and I can only hope that she carries on and continues inspiring others to do well. She has been excellent.”
Jenna’s dedication to conquer the odds continues to inspire younger children within her club, and she offers support and guidance.
