Largs Thistle boss Stuart Davidson has said it was disappointing to miss out on some valuable match practice after Wednesday's friendly match against Kilwinning was called off at Barrfields Park.

The match has been rescheduled for Tuesday 2 January with a 1pm kick-off at Barrfields Park.

Thistle managed to re-arrange some indoor training in Paisley on Wednesday evening, with their next league fixture pencilled in for Saturday January 6 at Maryhill.

Stuart said: "It was disappointing to miss out in a game to keep us ticking over but there is not much you can do with the park being frozen.

"You have to adapt. I think this period plays a big part in the season as if you lose your way and drop your fitness, or there is a wee distraction with not having these games, it can put you off. It is up to myself and the management team to keep the players on their toes and keep them focussed.

"It is about having that bit of professionalism and making sure you are ready for the next game.

"We have been working hard on fitness and making sure we have the right approach for the forthcoming match."

Thistle's next home game is against Cambuslang on 13 January, followed by away league matches against Darvel (20 January) and Irvine Meadow (27 January).
