Largs Thistle boss Sandy MacLean has called on his young troops to maintain the high standards they set against Kilbirnie for the rest of the season.
Goals from Euan Lindsay and Dylan McLaughlin overturned a one deficit, as Thistle marched on to the quarter finals of the Ayrshire Weekly Press Cup.
Largs are the holders of the trophy - which is sponsored by the parent company of the Largs and Millport Weekly News.
Thistle manager Sandy MacLean said: "The result wouldn't have surprised anyone connected with our club.
"We have been very close on many occasions to winning games and couldn't get over the line.
"On Saturday, our young players showed a maturity in performance and my experience players lead by example. We are capable of that type of display and that is why we won't give up our ambition of staying up."
