The Utah Jazz stormed to a 116-108 victory over the Houston Rockets to tie the NBA playoff series at one game apiece.

Joe Ingles scored two career-highs, recording 27 points and making seven three-pointers, while Donovan Mitchell’s 11 assists marked a franchise rookie record in a playoff game.

It was not all plain-sailing for the Jazz, however, as they squandered a big early lead to allow Houston back into the game.

Having led by as many 19 points in the first half, they found themselves facing a tight scoreline heading into the final quarter.

But the Rockets could not keep up the pace, and the Jazz pulled away with just minutes left until the final buzzer.

James Harden impressed for the Rockets with 32 points and 11 assists, while Chris Paul added 23 points.

It was the first time the Rockets had lost to the Jazz this season following five previous meetings.

The third game of the Western Conference semi-finals will take place on Friday.
