Largs and Fairlie swimmers enjoyed some solid swims at the recent Falkirk Otters Meet.

Last weekend 14 swimmers aged from 8 to13 years travelled to Grangemouth to compete at the popular Mini Meet.

This is a meet which in the past has yielded quick times for North Ayrshire's youngsters and this year was no exception.

Nathan Gillie (9), from Largs, swam well in his two events 50 fly and 50 breast, while Abby Kane, (11), also from Largs, set personal bests in four out of her five swims - winning two golds and two silvers in the process.

James Marshall, (13) Largs, was on great form with three personal bests securing one gold and two bronze places.

Andrew Sutherland (11) Largs, earned himself three bronze medals and set two new personal bests - one of which was eight seconds off his 100 Back time.

Connor Tarran (13) Fairlie, was swimming extremely well and earned himself Best Boy trophy on top of his four golds and two silvers.

Connor's little brother Jacob (10) Fairlie, was also swimming well and set a new personal best in his 100 IM.

Junior Head Coach Alan Dickson was delighted with all the swimmers performance, and commented: "It's great to see so many personal bests, especially from the younger swimmers.

"A big well done to Connor and Abbie Freeman in taking their best boy and girl trophies."
