In the spirit of the Commonwealth Games, you can see Europe’s most impressive weightlifters at The Kelburn Games Festival on Sunday 27 July. This fun packed family event will feature Europe’s Strongest Woman and Britain’s Strongest Man (under 105kg).

David Boyle, The Viscount of Kelburn said: “This is the first official Games Festival we have staged at Kelburn with the help of former Miss Scotland Bodybuilder, Louise Blades, from Ardrossan. There will be competitions galore! It’s an unique event not to be missed with lots of fun games for all the family, and at our games venue you have hassle free parking too!” The amazing competitions to be staged at Kelburn Estate are Europe’s Most Powerful Woman, Farmers Walk, Shield Carry, Keg Loading Medley, Circus Dumbbell, 18” Frame Deadlift, Britain’s Under 105kg Strongest Man, Log Press 100kg, 115kg, 130kg, Max Deadlift, Loading Medley (110kg, 120kg, 130kg, 140kg cylinders onto 42” platform) from a distance of 5 metres, Shield Carry 150kg Shield 40mtrs (20mtr turn), 130kg Farmers 40mtrs (20mtr turn) and Stones 120kg, 130kg, 140kg, 150kg, 160kg, 170kg loaded onto 52” barrels .

The competitions will be judged by Stuart Murray who judges the Masters World Powerlifter and World’s Strongest Man, Gemma Magnusson who was five times Britain’s Strongest Woman, and twice second World’s Strongest Woman, and Andy Cairney who was twice World Powerlifting Champion & British Powerlifting Champion.

David Boyle continued, “And, to make the day go with extra swing a ceilidh will be staged in the evening at the Pavilion with the foot tapping Roddy Neilson Ceilidh Band, who played to great acclaim on the main stage on the Saturday night at the Kelburn Garden Party Music Festival. Tickets for this event can be purchased separately if required.” Tickets for the whole event are priced at: £12/adult, £9/child, £38/family which includes free admission into the country centre and the evening ceilidh, and will be available at the ticket point in Kelburn Estate on the day. If you only require tickets for the ceilidh these can be purchased separately at £5 each.
